Maison Sauvage

Tucked beneath blossoming curtains of colourful flowers and ivy sits this fairytale of a cafe-come-restaurant — a place which combines unique charm with cosy, country-style warmth for a timeless experience — right in the center of Paris.

Located in the historic district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and spread across two floors with a sprawling terrace to boot, Maison Sauvage stands out due to its recognisable façade of (faux) wild flowers and eclectic décor (both inside and out), and has become a true nest for the connected elite in the city.

Known as one of the most trendy addresses in the 6th, here you’ll see swathes of cool Parisian youths alongside reality TV stars, congregating each day for their fill of brunch, cocktails and a side of city gossip, giving it a real cosmopolitan vibe at all hours.

The life of this place is organised into three main areas: the terrace, with an entrance of three or four small tables, and a room upstairs:

Our advice? Come here to have a great dinner in a romantic atmosphere, but be ready to wait for a place in the terrace — it's usually not crowded inside, but the outdoor seating is much more charming, they don't take reservations for outside; so it’s first come, first served.

For those of you who don't want to wait, Maison Sauvage also offers great breakfast and brunch.

The upper floor is particularly calm and will suit those in search of intimacy and comfort, but it’s the ground floor which is at the heart of the Maison Sauvage atmosphere, so try for that first!

Definitely a hotspot to check out for anyone swinging by the Rive Gauche, La Maison Sauvage offers a refreshing oasis for those in search of something just a little bit different — a city-set gem aligned with the essence of its environment, which advocates a cuisine open to the world and uninhibited.

Perfect for: A romantic first date or a gossipy brunch with fabulous friends.

What to order: We would recommend a Mexican bowl or roasted aubergine with feta yogurt, pomegranate, toasted almonds and mint — both are on-point and super delicious.
